A stone is a stone is a stone

This project is the result from the art residence Skammdegi AiR, which took part in Olafsfjordur, Iceland, during the winter of 2018-19.

Fifteen stones collected in a fjord are the departure point for a series os portraits, made with Indian black ink. Can a stone become something beyound itself? An island? Una organ? A reminder of an existence that survives after us? Through isolation, I tried to portraid the object in th simplicity of its own shape. Where does the infinite live? The series of portraits develops into a bigger drawing - a sea of stones. What used to have defined contours, shadows and breath, now squeezes and pushes itself to fit the paper. There's no way out, a stone doens't fit in the hand. Finnaly, in an attemp to interact with the object, a videoperformance. What do we move to avoid dying? as a search for meaning, the video aims to portrait trough three different actions an acceptance path.
